48th Koganei Takigi Noh

The 48th Koganei Takigi Noh will be held on Wednesday (National Holiday), September 23, 2026, at the Koganei Miyaji Gakki Hall Main Hall. Doors open at 13:30, and the performance begins at 14:00. The Noh play 'Kikujido - Yubai no Gaku -', the Kyogen play 'Shuron', and the original dance drama 'Ryokan' will be performed. Scheduled performers include Reijiro Tsumura, Yoshihiro Noguchi, and Takuhiro Noguchi for Noh; Yasutaro Yamamoto, Noritaka Yamamoto, and Norishige Yamamoto for Kyogen; and Kenta Kojiri, Ichinosuke Umekawa, and Reijiro Tsumura for the original dance drama. All seats are reserved, with S seats at 7,000 yen and A seats at 5,000 yen. Ticket sales start on July 1, and preschool children are not admitted. Koganei Takigi Noh supports the 100th anniversary of the Place of Scenic Beauty designation of Scenic Koganei (Cherry Blossoms). While Takigi Noh was once held outdoors, it is now moved indoors to the Koganei Miyaji Gakki Hall; while preserving tradition, original dance dramas resonating with diverse expressions such as modern ballet, Japanese taiko drums, and cello are performed mainly by Noh master Reijiro Tsumura, making activities beyond the classical framework an entry point for younger generations to become familiar with Noh.
