About this event
Held at the Kodaira Municipal Taiyo Welfare Center, the '42nd Taiyo Center Festival' is a festival enjoyable for everyone from children to adults, aimed at deepening interactions with local residents, schools, and related organizations, as well as furthering understanding of the center's activities and disabilities. On the day, a wide variety of stage events will unfold, starting with the opening Yosakoi (Kodaira Dai-Juusan Elementary School Yosakoi), Japanese taiko drumming (Wadaiko Terra), a musical performance by LaLa, a puppet show by the NPO Kodaira Children's Theater, and a finale choral singing by the Kogera Choir. In addition, there will be hands-on corners such as boccia, sign language, braille, and guide-help experiences, along with a children's square featuring a craft corner, stamp rally, and art balloons. There will also be sales of dyed goods created by users of the daily living training room and exhibitions of artworks by students of Kodaira Daisan Elementary School and Kodaira Special Needs School, offering a glimpse into the results of collaboration with the local community. Food stalls will serve classic festival foods such as drinks, yakisoba, takoyaki, yakitori, frankfurters, chocolate bananas, and popcorn. There is no parking available for visitors, so the use of public transportation is recommended.
