Islands and Education Future Conference in Toshima Village

Co-hosted by the Toshima Village Board of Education and the International Edutainment Association, the "Islands and Education Future Conference in Toshima Village" is a dialogue-based event set on the remote island of Toshima, home to 300 residents, where participants think together about the future of education and regional communities. In Toshima, where rich nature and human bonds thrive, children and adults, islanders and urban residents alike gather to discuss the front lines of education, ICT utilization, island-unique learning, and the role of local community education. The theme for fiscal year 2026 is "Thinking Together About Our Happiness." In modern times where purpose can easily be lost in daily life, the event deeply explores through dialogue the nature of our own happiness and the happiness of the children who will lead the future. In philosophical dialogues, participants explore themes such as "What is well-being?" and "The relationship between happiness and education," aiming to bring fresh perspectives to each participant's values and way of living. On this island where voices discussing the future blend with the sound of waves, it is an event offering a valuable experience of connecting people through learning.
