Mikurajima Dolphin Swim Tour
Japanese name:御蔵島ドルフィンスイムツアー
📅 Sun, Oct 25, 2026 - Tue, Oct 27, 2026
📍 Mikurajima, Tokyo
About this event
Mikurajima is one of the few ocean areas in the world where Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins inhabit the coastal waters. The main stream of the Kuroshio Current flows to the southwest of the island, providing abundant food such as squid favored by dolphins, making it an ideal habitat and breeding ground for wild dolphins. Because the dolphins reside along the island's coast, the encounter rate is nearly 100%. Papalagi provides highly polished dolphin tours utilizing unique programs based on years of experience and research, carefully selected boats, and guidance from dedicated tour instructors. Swimming with wild dolphins delivers an excitement beyond words. In early summer, you may even encounter baby dolphins. Camping is prohibited on the island and accommodations are limited, preserving the natural and marine environment. The 3-day/2-night tour departs on the evening of the first day, arrives at Mikurajima the next day to enjoy dolphin swimming, and returns to port on the afternoon of the third day. The tour is scheduled for October 25 (Sun) to 27 (Tue), 2026, with reservations opening on August 4 (Tue) at 11:00 AM.
