Hachijojima Ocean Play for Everyone 2026

About this event

This is a hands-on experience event for Hachijojima residents to enjoy playing in the island's sea more safely and enjoyably. The objective is to understand Hachijojima's sea, which faces the open ocean with complex currents, and to discover comfortable ways to engage with it. By acquiring a bit of knowledge and practical tips, ocean activities become much more comfortable and safe. Experienced staff provide support tailored to each individual's swimming ability, stamina, and ocean experience, allowing everyone from small children to adults to enjoy playing in the Hachijojima sea together. Activities include beach bathing (by the water's edge), snorkeling, and skin diving experiences. A portion of the participation fee will be donated to the successor organization of resident volunteers who engaged in disaster recovery efforts.
