📅 Mon, Sep 7, 2026 - Wed, Sep 16, 2026
About this event
As part of the 'TOKYO Ocean Waste Zero Action' to deepen understanding of marine litter issues and encourage lifestyle reviews, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will hold its 4th beach cleanup event in the Ogasawara Islands. Aimed at protecting beautiful coasts and oceans, this event includes activities open to everyone. Cleanup activities will be conducted on the beaches of Chichijima and Hahajima. At Omura Beach on Chichijima, cleanup activities guided by the Ogasawara Visitor Center and beach cleanups participating in kayak tours will also be held. Participants who complete a survey will receive Ogasawara-related novelty gifts. In case of stormy weather, dates may change or the event may be canceled. During the event period, marine debris collection boxes will be installed at 6 locations on Chichijima and 2 locations on Hahajima, allowing participants to pick up beach trash, sort it, and dispose of it. Cleanup activities at Omura Beach on Chichijima are held on specific days and times without requiring prior registration. If participating via kayak tours, please check information from each tour company. Novelty gifts can be collected at the Ogamiyama Service Center inside the Ogasawara Visitor Center on Chichijima or at the Ogasawara Hahajima Tourism Association on Hahajima.
