"Shonan Olive Festa 2026," held in Ninomiya Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a harvest festival set in the Shonan Olive Village where visitors can experience the charm of olives with all five senses. At the venue, various experiential programs are prepared, including olive grove observation tours, olive woodcraft making, and olive dyeing workshops. In addition, olive oil tastings, olive tea tastings, and sales of olive-dyed goods, miscellaneous items, and sweets will be offered. Visitors can also enjoy an "Olive Bonsai Exhibition," which presents olive trees crafted into works of art, as well as an exhibition and sale of "The World of Olive Dyeing" utilizing pruned branches and leaves. There will also be a poster exhibition on olive-related research activities by the School of Agriculture at Meiji University, allowing attendees to learn deeply about olive cultivation and utilization. This festival aims to showcase the appeal of olives as a new local specialty and spread it as part of the regional culture.
