Bamboo Grove Experience and Autumn Flavors in the Satoyama

About this event

This event lets you enjoy hands-on bamboo grove activities and autumn flavors in the satoyama (countryside) of Oi Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. Experience bamboo harvesting, branch trimming, and bamboo cutting using a saw, and craft your very own bamboo cup. For lunch, taste the blessings of the satoyama with hands-on sweet potato rice and miso-ball (miso dama) making. In addition, there will be bamboo games and bamboo quizzes that both adults and children can enjoy. The event also includes an approximately 15-minute satoyama walk to the bamboo grove, allowing you to fully appreciate the nature of the countryside in autumn.
