Nagaoka Sports and Recreation Festa 2026

A sports and recreation festival enjoyable for people of all ages will be held at City Hall Plaza Aore Nagaoka in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. On the day of the event, the opening ceremony will take place in the arena, featuring a powerful taiko drum performance by Chosei Nursery School and a spectacular folk dance performance by the Nagaoka City Folk Dance Federation. Following that, the arena will offer a diverse range of sports and recreation activities, including Sports Chanbara, Padisc, Boccia, Kin-Ball, Molkky, Ladder Getter, and Balloon Volleyball, full of programs that both children and adults can get absorbed in. In addition, visitors can enjoy creative workshops in the arena such as shell accessory making, balloon art, and a toy repair clinic. At the Civic Exchange Hall A, a folk dance party will be held where participants can deepen their exchanges with one another. A ballroom dance social will also be held, offering an elegant time (participation fee required). In the foyer, a Kids Disaster Prevention Walking event will be held, allowing parents and children to raise disaster prevention awareness while having fun. A stamp rally will also run throughout the entire event, offering a chance to win prizes. Admission is free, but a 500 yen fee is required only for the ballroom dance social. Hosted by the Nagaoka City Recreation Association and co-hosted by Nagaoka City, this event aims to promote local sports and improve community health.
