Autumn Special Exhibition Commemorating the Important Cultural Property Designation of Artifacts Excavated from the Nokubi Site: "Jomon Crossroads Nokubi Site - Deep Layers of Interaction Told by the 'National Treasure Masked Goddess'"

This exhibition mainly displays the National Treasure "Dogu" (Masked Goddess) excavated from the Nakappara Site in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, as well as pottery and stone tools designated as Important Cultural Properties. These valuable materials highlight the interactions and relationships that existed between the Nokubi Site and other archaeological sites in Nagano, Gunma, Fukushima, and Niigata Prefectures. Through exhibits that approach the broad network and its deep layers during the Jomon period, it will be an opportunity to experience the richness of people's lives and culture at that time. In particular, the deep layers of interaction told by the "Masked Goddess" suggest the importance of inter-regional exchanges in this era.
