JR Oito Line Special Operation 2026: Echigo Tokimeki Resort Setsugekka - Traveling Through the Autumn Splendor of Himekawa Gorge

A special operation of the "Echigo Tokimeki Resort Setsugekka" running on the JR Oito Line will be held. This 8th edition, titled "JR Oito Line Special Operation 2026: Echigo Tokimeki Resort Setsugekka - Traveling Through the Autumn Splendor of Himekawa Gorge," allows passengers to enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage scenery of Himekawa Gorge from the train windows. This tour offers a journey combining the Echigo Tokimeki Resort Setsugekka and a chartered bus, making a round trip between Itoigawa Station and Minami-Otari Station. Course A heads to Minami-Otari on Setsugekka and returns to Itoigawa by bus. Course B travels to Minami-Otari by bus and returns to Itoigawa on Setsugekka. The Echigo Tokimeki Resort Setsugekka is a 2-car train with all reserved seating and a capacity of 37 passengers each. In conjunction with this operation, some local train services will be substituted by bus transport. A departure ceremony at Itoigawa Station and hospitality at stations along the line are also planned, aiming to revitalize areas along the route and promote the use of the JR Oito Line.
