Held in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, the "21st Echigo Kenshin SAKE Festival 2026" turns the Takada Honcho Shopping Street into a pedestrian paradise for a celebration of Japanese sake and various other alcoholic beverages and food. Visitors can enjoy sake brewed by sake breweries in the Joetsu area, tastings from guest brewers from within and outside the prefecture, as well as wine, craft beer, and doburoku (unfiltered sake). Numerous local gourmet food and retail booths will also be set up, offering a valuable opportunity to fully savor the sake and culinary culture of Joetsu. Exclusive festival-limited sake and official merchandise will also be on sale on the day. The venue, Takada Honcho Shopping Street, offers convenient access, just a 5-minute walk from Echigo Tokimeki Railway Takada Station. Admission is free, but purchasing a tasting glass is required to sample alcoholic beverages.
