About this event
Held on Mt. Gozu in Agano City, Niigata Prefecture, the "Gozu Mountain Climbing Race" is a vertical race where runners sprint up a 4.4 km course with an elevation gain of 700 meters to the summit of Gonomine. Marking its 5th edition this year, the race is also positioned as Round 5 of the Japan Skyrunning Association (JSA) certified "V GAMES JAPAN" series, attracting many runners from all over the country. Starting in 2022 from the desire to "energize Agano City and deliver the appeal of Mt. Gozu to more people," the event has expanded every year as a place to experience the rich nature and local culture of the Gozu Onsen area through skyrunning. The tournament aims to be an event where all involved people—not only the competing runners, but also cheering local residents, supporting staff, and sponsoring companies—can feel pride and enjoyment. The entry fee is 4,500 yen for General and Elite categories, and 3,500 yen for U18 (both include insurance).
