About this event

A summer culinary event where sweetfish (ayu) are grilled golden-brown over charcoal on a 20-meter special grilling station and boldly eaten whole. Held along the banks of the Uono River, visitors can savor delicious local delicacies. Held annually, the festival is scheduled to feature entertainment by local residents as well as various stalls offering grilled meat, yakitori, yakisoba, tokoroten, rice balls, corn, shaved ice, pickled eggplant, frankfurters, puffed grain snacks, juices, and more. In addition, local sake sales corners featuring brands such as Hakkaisan, Takachiyo, and Kakurei, along with a kids' corner offering goldfish scooping, water yo-yos, and various toys, will be set up. The event runs from 11:00 to 21:00 (sweetfish redemption until 20:00). Advance tickets are 4,000 yen and same-day tickets are 4,800 yen, which include 2 salt-grilled sweetfish and 3 beers (can be exchanged for soft drinks).
