In 2026, Minamiuonuma City will become an exciting town for cycling events. On Saturday, September 19, the 11th JBCF Minamiuonuma Road Race will be held. This competition, following the All-Japan Road Cycling Championships (held June 27 and 28), the premier tournament deciding Japan's fastest cyclists, marks the opening event of the Minamiuonuma Cycle Festa 2026. The schedule has been changed from usual years, with the JBCF Road Race on the first day, the JBCF Criterium on the second day, and the Gourmet Ride on the final day. Spectators can enjoy both the excitement of professional racing and Minamiuonuma sightseeing, followed by participation in the Gourmet Ride. The competition takes place around the Sagurigawa Dam loop course in Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture. Details and entry recruitment are scheduled to be posted on the official JBCF website.
