About this event
The 9th Towa Festival will be held at the Tainai Campus of Niigata Agro-Food University. The theme is "Colors of a Bountiful Harvest: An Autumn Festival Spreading Smiles." A diverse lineup of programs that can be enjoyed across generations will be offered, including hands-on events for parents and children, comedy shows, and a screening of the movie "Bento Day" with a special talk. There is also a special event where the first 300 visitors will receive newly harvested Koshihikari "NAFU Rice" grown by first-year university students. Hands-on participatory programs are also abundant, such as pickle making, harvesting experiences, driftwood keychain crafting, and lawnmower test-drive experiences. Stage events can also be enjoyed, featuring live pop/rock music club performances, cheer dance performances, street performances, Japanese taiko drumming, kagura dance, and hula dance shows. A wide variety of unique booths by student organizations and clubs, food trucks, and vegetable sales by local farmers will line up, offering delicious food and goods for sale. Admission is free.
