Nakada Scarecrow Festival

Continuing since 1983, the 'Nakada Scarecrow Festival' is a unique festival held in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. Around the Nakada Community Center and at Nakada Chuo Park in the Nakada district, numerous humorous scarecrows made from familiar materials such as straw and wood are exhibited. These handmade scarecrows reflect the social trends of the year, bringing laughter and surprise to visitors. In addition to the scarecrow contest, various events such as Yosakoi dance performances are held, with district residents uniting to create a bright and friendly atmosphere. The fairy-tale-like scarecrow displays can be enjoyed by people of all ages, warmly welcoming many visitors from both inside and outside the region.
