To the sounds of flutes and hand drums resonating within the atmospheric grounds of Hakusan Shrine, graceful dances are dedicated to mournful melodies. The Kokiriko Festival, which captivates spectators, is one of Gokayama's representative festivals alongside the Mugiya Festival. Folk songs and lion dances are performed on a special stage in front of the Kokiriko Hall, bringing excitement to the entire Kaminashi district as one. In particular, during the 'Kokiriko Grand Dance' (Kokiriko So-odori), not only local residents but also spectators can join the circle and dance together while sounding sasara clappers. It will be an experience where both mind and body are immersed in the traditional Kokiriko Festival.
