Grand Lantern Festival & Omicho Night Market

At the "Grand Lantern Festival" held from October 1 to October 6, 2026, at Omicho Market in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, giant lanterns painted with warrior imagery and small lanterns hanging under shop eaves transform the entire market into a magical autumn festival setting bathed in warm light. Throughout the event period, visitors can join a no-lose triangular raffle using lottery tickets received from shopping and dining, and enjoy daily bargain events at Ichiba-kan Square. October 1 features live Pacific bluefin tuna butchering and sales, October 2 offers a melon special sale, October 5 features Omicho's specialty zenzai sweet red bean soup, and October 6 brings a domestic beef sirloin steak special sale. In addition, on Saturday, October 3, the "Machinaka Kids Stage" will feature dance and performances by local children, followed by the "Omicho Night Market" starting at 17:30 the same evening. At Omicho Night Market, visitors can enjoy limited-edition gourmet food, craft and novelty goods stalls, stage performances, and festival games. During the Grand Lantern Festival, an affiliated parking service offering 1 hour of free parking around Omicho Market will also be available.
