The Sora to Kodomo Picture Book Museum has reached its 20th anniversary. Picture book editor Tadashi Matsui supported the museum's activities as an advisor in his later years and donated numerous valuable materials to Komatsu City. Satoshi Kako and Mitsumasa Anno, who were born in 1926 (Taisho 15) like Matsui, were discovered by Matsui and became picture book authors; together, the three blew fresh air into the world of picture books. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of these three individuals. This exhibition reflects on the messages for children conveyed by the three through picture books, original illustrations, and words. In addition, the Matsui Collection will be open to the public at the "Picture Book Hall Dream Bookshelf." Please take this opportunity to enjoy the world of picture books in Komatsu.
