About this event
The "Kuriyama Autumn Festival," held in Kuriyama Town, Hokkaido, is a major autumn event featuring over 200 food and market stalls—one of the largest scales in the prefecture—attracting large crowds every year. Held in conjunction with the annual grand festival of Kuriyama Tenmangu Shrine, it features a variety of performances including YOSAKOI Soran dance. Additionally, the "Kuriyama Gourmet Festival" is held simultaneously, offering prideful local flavors presented by businesses and organizations in Kuriyama Town. Furthermore, collaborative events with the Kuriyama Brick Warehouse "Kurift" will take place, offering workshops, markets, and diverse programs. Throughout the festival period, stalls line the streets, mainly along the Station Front Street and Town Road Park Street, creating a lively atmosphere. On the 25th, the sacred mikoshi procession of Kuriyama Tenmangu Shrine takes place, where carrying the shrine through town with spirited chanting serves as one of the festival's main highlights. Traffic restrictions will be in effect around the venue, but temporary town bus services and ample parking spaces are provided to ensure a comfortable experience for visitors.
