About this event
Boasting a history of about 380 years, the traditional event 'Senbei-yaki' (rice cracker grilling) is held on the grounds of Tenma Shrine in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture. In this event, raw rice crackers are placed at the tip of green bamboo sticks and grilled over the sacred bonfire (kagaribi). Eating these freshly grilled crackers is said to ward off serious illnesses and bring blessings of good health. The crackers you grill yourself offer an exceptional flavor, providing a valuable experience of connecting with local traditional culture.
