About this event

Held in Takahama Town, Fukui Prefecture, the "30th Anniversary Wakasa Takahama Hamanasu Marathon" features a flat, easy-to-run course centered along the coast of scenic Wakasa Wada Beach, which has obtained the international environmental BLUE FLAG certification for 11 consecutive years. Feeling the sparkling water surface and refreshing sea breeze, a wide range of generations can participate in this event. This year, as a 30th anniversary commemorative event, actor Toru Kazama will appear as a guest runner. Kazama appeared in the movie "Lifesaver," which was set at Wakasa Wada Beach, and will help liven up the competition. In each division, 1st through 3rd places will be awarded with supplementary prizes. Additionally, as a special prize for the 10km course, invitational entry slots for the Fukui Sakura Marathon are prepared. All participants will receive an original towel as a participation gift, and finishers will be issued a web finisher certificate. Furthermore, a lottery to win Takahama local specialty products and other items will be held. In the 1.5km Universal Division, participation by wheelchair or with a guide runner due to physical circumstances is possible; to ensure safety, accompaniment by at least 1 guide runner is required. The entry fee for guide runners is free. The start and finish point of the event is the Wada Fishing Port Parking Area (Wakasa Wada Hamanasu Park), which is easily accessible, located about a 15-minute walk from JR Obama Line "Wakasa-Wada" Station.
