Held as part of the annual 'Autumn Hokuto Travel Walk', 'Walking the Old Koshu Kaido in Autumn' is a walking event that explores Daigahara-juku, which prospered as a post town on the Koshu Kaido highway during the Edo period. Participants can walk along this atmospheric historic highway, selected as one of 'Japan's Top 100 Roads', where old private houses and traditional storehouses (kura) still dot the landscape. Organized by the Hokuto City Tourism Association, this event offers a valuable opportunity to feel the history while enjoying the beautiful autumn scenery.
