The "15th Famous Peaks and Pristine Waters Village Hokuto Go Festival" held in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, is packed with appealing programs for Go enthusiasts, including Go tournaments, Go classes, instructional matches, and exchange events with professional players. Against the backdrop of Hokuto City's unique beautiful nature and pristine waters, participants can deepen their interactions through Go. At the event, Go tournaments of various levels such as the Hokuto Cup Tournament (open division), dan-rank division, and kyu-rank division will be held, along with Go classes and introductory classes designed for beginners. Furthermore, instructional matches by professional Go players will be conducted, offering participants a valuable opportunity to receive direct guidance from top-class pros. Professional players such as Shuhei Uchida 8-dan and Asuka Yasuda 1-dan are scheduled to appear. The participation fee is 2,600 yen for general participants (includes lunch) and 1,000 yen for junior high school students and younger. Advance registration is required, with the application period running from Monday, August 3, 2026 to Friday, September 18, 2026.
