Autumn Hokuto Travel Walk: Shingen Bomichi Walk

About this event

The Shingen Bomichi Walk traces the ancient mountain trail said to have been constructed by Takeda Shingen, the Sengoku-period warlord of Kai Province, to swiftly transport troops and supplies to Northern Shinano. Although three routes—Upper Bomichi, Middle Bomichi, and Lower Bomichi—are said to have once existed, only the Upper Bomichi clearly remains today. Currently maintained as a nature walking path, it has been selected as one of the 500 Selected Walking Paths of Japan. Along the path, visitors can see over 30 stone Buddhist statues (Kannon statues) placed during the Edo period. In this walk, participants will stroll through a section of the Kobuchisawa area of Bomichi while admiring the golden autumn foliage of Japanese larch trees. This walk is a valuable opportunity to fully enjoy both history and nature.
