Held in Doshi Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, the 'Doshi Village Happy Project: Hunter Experience in Doshi Village' is a special program where you can experience everything from a simulated hunt at an actual hunting ground to deer butchering and a wild game (gibier) BBQ. Participants enter the mountains with a hunter to learn about hunting techniques, wild animals, and the nature of satoyama. In the hunting experience using replica guns, you can learn how to hold and shoot a gun. Afterwards, you will observe the butchering of a deer and realize the importance of 'receiving life.' The experience concludes with a wild game BBQ using fresh venison, savoring the blessings of Doshi Village's nature. Hearing directly from the hunter about mountains, wildlife, and the boundary between humans and animals that is disappearing in depopulating mountainous areas will deepen your understanding of food and nature. While it may include potentially shocking scenes such as watching butchering, participants can join with peace of mind as leisure insurance is included. The program is operated with safety management as the top priority so that you can enjoy the experience safely while feeling the charm of nature. On September 20, 2026, it will be held from 9:15 to 14:00, meeting at Roadside Station Doshi (Michi-no-Eki Doshi) at 9:00. Subsequent dates are scheduled for October 18, November 8, and December 20.
