2026 Autumn Tour Grand Sumo Matsumoto Basho

Held for the first time in 3 years, the "2026 Autumn Tour Grand Sumo Matsumoto Basho" will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Air Water Arena Matsumoto. Doors open at 9:00, and the conclusion (uchidashi) is scheduled for around 14:30. On the day, public morning training, a fun corner (practice between sekitori and children), bouts for makushita and lower divisions, hatsukkiri (comic sumo), sumo jinku (traditional singing), and taiko drumming performances will take place. Furthermore, following the makuuchi and yokozuna ring-entering ceremonies, a commemorative ceremony, and a fun raffle, the makuuchi bouts will unfold, concluding with the bow-twirling ceremony (yumitori-shiki). It is a valuable opportunity to see the valiant figures of spirited, popular sumo wrestlers up close. Tamari S seats (with commemorative cushion) are 17,000 yen, Tamari A seats (with commemorative cushion) are 15,000 yen, Arena Chair seats are 11,000 yen, Stand Chair S seats are 8,000 yen, A seats are 6,000 yen, and B seats are 4,000 yen. Sets with souvenirs and sets with makunouchi bento boxes will also be on sale. Ticket advance sales will run from Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 10:00 to Tuesday, May 19 at 23:59, and general ticket sales will begin on Wednesday, May 20 at 10:00.
