"Wasshoi Toyama 2026" will be held at Roadside Station Toyamago (Michi-no-Eki Toyamago) in Minamishinano Wada, Iida City, Nagano Prefecture. Commemorating the 1st anniversary of the renewal of Roadside Station Toyamago, this event aims to create a gathering place where local residents and visitors can enjoy themselves together. At the gourmet booths where delicious foods from both inside and outside the region centered on Toyamago gather, unique flavors of Toyamago such as salt-grilled amago (red-spotted masu salmon), gohei mochi, and gibier (wild game) cuisine will be offered, along with tochi mochi (horse chestnut rice cakes), yakisoba, crepes, drinks, and more. On stage, taiko drum performances, Yosakoi dancing, hip-hop dancing, live music, the Iida City Fire Corps Band, and a traditional monkey performance (sarumawashi) will be showcased. There will also be a tuna cutting show and direct sales, craft and outdoor gear sales, workshops, and various hands-on and consultation corners. To conclude the event, the traditional mochi tossing (mochinage) will take place, featuring prizes provided by local companies and shops. Inside the roadside station building, various special programs will be held, such as the Yukkurii Marche, facial esthetics, foot reflexology massage, sales of relaxation goods, all-you-can-stuff vegetable packing, and special commemorative ticket giveaways. Furthermore, on the day of the event, the adjacent Kagura-no-Yu hot spring can be used at a special rate, and bathers will receive an original face towel as a gift. It will be a day enjoyable across generations for local residents and visitors to Toyamago alike.
