Monodukuri Fair Chikuma 2026 - Connecting People, Creating the Future

This exhibition aims to let children in Chikuma City (primarily targeting second-year junior high school students) experience the fun of manufacturing and learn that there are many companies in the city with technologies to be proud of. Celebrating its 3rd edition this year, the hands-on making experiences as well as projects to introduce Chikuma City are enhancing year by year. Industry (manufacturers in the city), academia (students), and government (Chikuma City) unite to liven up the exhibition. Under the future vision of 'Connecting People,' it aims to increase recognition by introducing local companies, fostering cross-industry connections, and sharing information with employees' families. Under 'Creating the Future,' it aims to help children realize the wonder and fun of manufacturing and develop an interest in the manufacturing industry, leading to the preservation and development of local manufacturing. The purposes of the exhibition are securing human resources, fostering collaboration in local manufacturing, and improving corporate value through social contribution. Ingenuity is also reflected in the venue layout, featuring designs modeled after a city map and mats representing the Chikuma River and National Route 18 to express local identity. University students in the prefecture participate as corporate support on the day of the exhibition, and by matching exhibiting companies with students, junior high school students can tour each booth with familiarity, while companies can also learn about young people's perspectives and values. It is an exhibition realized through the unified collaboration of industry, academia, and government, continuing the challenge of passing on Chikuma City's superior technologies to the next generation.
