2026 Oshika Kabuki Autumn Regular Performance
Japanese name:令和8年度大鹿歌舞伎秋の定期公演
📅 Sun, Oct 18, 2026
About this event
The autumn regular performance of 'Oshika Kabuki', a traditional performing art handed down in Oshika Village, Nagano Prefecture for over 250 years, will be held. Oshika Kabuki is performed twice a year in spring and autumn on the revolving stages remaining in the village. In 2011, it served as the model for the movie 'Someday (Oshika-mura Saodoki)' and has fascinated many people. This is a precious opportunity to appreciate the world of Kabuki with its long history amidst the grand nature at the foot of the Southern Alps, in a village known as 'one of the most beautiful villages in Japan'. As congestion is expected on the day, arriving early is recommended. Admission is free, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so bringing your own cushion and arriving before the opening time is recommended. The program will be announced at a later date.
