About this event

The 'All Japan Sunday Painter Chubu Japan Exhibition', celebrating its 40th edition this year, will be held. In addition to the regular exhibition, special projects commemorating the 40th anniversary are planned for this historic exhibition, which has been held every year since declaring itself a 'Sunday Painter's Village' in 1980 (Showa 55). Various artworks such as oil paintings, acrylic paintings, and watercolors will be exhibited, and judging will be divided into the General Division (high school students and older) and the Junior Division (junior high school students and younger). Awards including the Nagano Prefectural Governor's Award, Kiso Village Mayor's Award, Kiso Village Council Chairperson's Award, and Kiso Village Superintendent of Education Award will be presented. At the exhibition, in addition to the display of submitted works, gallery talks by judges will also be held, allowing visitors to deeply enjoy the world of painting. Furthermore, as a commemorative project, the 'Past Nagano Prefectural Governor's Award & Special Award Works Exhibition' showcasing 37 past top-award-winning works across multiple venues will also take place. In addition, at the Kiso Village Social Gymnasium, an 'Adult Painting Class' focusing on landscape paintings of Kiso Village's nature will be held, where participants finish their artworks under instructor guidance to be displayed during the exhibition. The 'Kiso Village Art Stamp Rally' linked with the special exhibition at the Kiso Village Folk Museum will also be held during the same period, with commemorative gifts presented to those who complete the stamp rally.
