2026 Tsugaike Nature Park Autumn Foliage Week

Otari Village in Nagano Prefecture will host "2026 Tsugaike Nature Park Autumn Foliage Week" for 7 days from Saturday, October 3, 2026, to Friday, October 9, 2026. At Tsugaike Nature Park, located at an altitude of approximately 1,900 m, the best time to view autumn leaves is from late September to mid-October, transitioning from grass foliage to the vibrant autumn hues of Japanese rowan and maple trees. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular view unique to autumn, created by the Hakuba Sanzan and other Northern Alps mountains woven together with colorful autumn foliage. During the period, with venues inside Tsugaike Nature Park and near the gondola station at the foot of the mountain, a variety of events to fully enjoy autumn will be held, including complimentary servings of mushroom soup and cut apples, alphorn performances, Polaroid photography, and a park visitor commemorative lottery. In addition, "Sanroku Marche" selling local products will be held near the gondola station at the foot of the mountain, enlivening autumn across the Tsugaike area at two venues on the mountaintop and at the base. "Tsugaike Riddle-Solving Trekking," a hands-on event set in Tsugaike Nature Park, is also being held, allowing visitors to enjoy Tsugaike in autumn in various ways, such as challenging riddles while walking through the park colored by autumn foliage.
