This exhibition is an exchange masterpiece exhibition co-hosted by the Obuse Museum / Nakajima Chinami Gallery and the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum. Focusing on how Japanese-style painter Kiyoshi Nakajima's evacuation to Obuse became the catalyst for the museum's opening, the exhibition traces the flow of art from the modern to the postwar era through the works of artists from Shinshu and artists who evacuated there. As part of an exchange masterpiece exhibition planned, formulated, and implemented collaboratively using collections held by art museums across the prefecture, exhibiting works centered on artists with local ties highlights the characteristics of each museum and provides an opportunity to rediscover the charm of the region. It also aims to deepen cooperation with art museums in the prefecture through exchanges among curators.
