Takayama Village 70th Anniversary: Shinshu Takayama Hill Climb Challenge 2026

The 'Shinshu Takayama Hill Climb Challenge 2026' will be held in Takayama Village, Nagano Prefecture. Held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the enforcement of the Takayama Village municipal system, this is a full-scale hill climb race spanning over 20 km in total length with an elevation difference of 1,300 m. Set in Takayama Village surrounded by magnificent nature, a race filled with hospitality will unfold with the involvement of many villagers. The event aims to promote the appeal of Takayama Village as an ideal location for cycling sports and revitalize the region by increasing visitor and connected populations. Eligibility is open to healthy men and women of high school age or older who possess the endurance to finish within the time limit. Fixed-gear bikes (track bicycles) and tandem bicycles cannot participate. The entry fee includes insurance and a participation souvenir. Discount benefits are available when staying at accommodations within the village.
