49th Kamikawa Hometown Festival

The '49th Kamikawa Hometown Festival' will be held over two days on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30, 2026. Various events are planned for children and adults alike, with particular highlights being the fireworks lighting up the night sky and the annual Bon Odori dance competition. On Saturday, August 29, mochimaki (rice cake tossing) and inter-neighborhood competitions will take place, followed by fireworks launched in the evening (around 20:00). On the following day, Sunday, August 30, there will be a Working Vehicles Square, a vegetable stuffing championship aiming for exact gram weight, a children's Bon Odori, and a costume Bon Odori competition. In the costume Bon Odori competition, 50,000 yen worth of local shopping vouchers is prepared as the grand prize for the group division, providing an opportunity to create summer memories together with friends, family, and coworkers. Many family-friendly activities are prepared, such as giving snacks to all participating children in the children's Bon Odori. The venue is the Kamikawa Hometown Festival Special Venue (Station Front Plaza).
