About this event

Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, promotes "city development through music" as the birthplace of Yoji Eguchi, renowned for composing songs such as "Akogare no Hawaii Koro." Serving as its core facility, Nihon Showa Ongakumura acts as a hub for musical activities, equipped with Suireiko Hall boasting excellent acoustics, music studios, and an outdoor stage. The "Water City Ogaki Suireiko Music Festival" is held in this blessed natural setting with the aim of gathering music lovers across various genres, deepening exchanges, and transmitting music culture toward the future. In fiscal year 2026, the entire community will continue to enliven the "Music Town" through hosted and sponsored projects. Programs scheduled for this music festival include "Peter and the Wolf" and "Stories Starting from B," co-performed by professional musicians and performers selected through public auditions. In addition, a choir festival, a jazz festival, and special performances such as an open piano lesson by internationally active pianist Hibiki Tamura, a Sayo Komada shamisen trio concert, and a Nihon Showa Ongakumura Ambassador concert will be held. These events offer opportunities to experience the diverse appeal of music and contribute to the promotion of local culture.
