33rd (2026) Mino Washi Akari Art Exhibition

About this event

Held every year in October in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture, the "Mino Washi Akari Art Exhibition" is a magical event brightening long autumn nights where the 1300-year history of Mino Washi paper tradition meets contemporary art. Set against the Edo-period atmosphere of the "Udatsu-lined Historical Townscape," creative light art objects made from Mino Washi paper will be exhibited. Part 1 exhibits all submitted works of the year, while Part 2 exhibits outstanding past works. On October 11, a lighting ceremony will take place to elevate the event. In addition, on October 17, a section of the Udatsu-lined Historical Townscape will become a pedestrian paradise, and works will be displayed outside acrylic cases (in case of rain, they will remain displayed inside acrylic cases). Stage events and more are also planned, offering a special experience enveloped in the warm glow of Mino Washi paper.
