A rice harvesting event for rice terrace owners will be held at Sakaori Rice Terraces in Nakanohou-cho, Ena City, Gifu Prefecture. In the beautiful terraced fields spread with golden ripe ears of rice, participants can experience harvesting rice. Welcomed by bright red red spider lilies, you can savor the joy of harvest while admiring the scenery of terraced fields, which can be called Japan's quintessential landscape. Organized by the Sakaori Terraced Rice Fields Preservation Society, this event aims to preserve the terraced fields and revitalize the region. After the harvest, interactions among owners and local residents are planned to share the joy of harvesting. Under the careful guidance of instructors, participants can experience manual harvesting by hand and the work of 'hazakake' hanging for sun-drying. Rice dried in the sun through hazakake becomes even more delicious.
