About this event
The 26th Minokamo City Literary Festival is a literary event accepting submissions of tanka, haiku, senryu, kyohei, and contemporary poetry. The submission categories include open-themed tanka (up to 2 poems per person), haiku themed on summer/autumn seasonal words (up to 2 poems per person), open-themed senryu (up to 2 poems per person), kyohei on the themes of 'Pride' and 'Interesting' with 1 poem per theme (up to 2 poems per person), and open-themed contemporary poetry within 30 lines (up to 20 characters per line, blank lines count as 1 line; up to 2 poems per person). Eligibility is open to those born on or before April 1, 2008 (Heisei 20), and entry is free of charge. Awards such as the Literary Festival Award, Mayor's Award, Chairperson's Award, Superintendent of Education Award, Encouragement Award, and Honorable Mention are prepared. The exhibition of works will be held from Wednesday, October 16 to Saturday, October 19, 2024 (Reiwa 6) at the 1st floor entrance of Kamo-ru, with the award ceremony taking place on Saturday, October 19 at 2:00 PM and the review session at 3:00 PM on the same day at the respective Kamo-ru venues. The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 12, 2024 (Reiwa 6), postmarked on that day.
