Gujo Hachiman Castle Autumn Leaves Festival 2026: Castle Tower in Flames

About this event

In Gujo Hachiman as autumn deepens, the "Gujo Hachiman Castle Autumn Leaves Festival 2026" will be held to coincide with the fall foliage season. The autumn scenery "Castle Tower in Flames" unique to Gujo Hachiman Castle is a sight where the pure white castle tower wrapped in vivid autumn leaves looks as if it were engulfed in flames. During the event, "Castle Tower in Flames Night Special Opening - Sky Autumn Leaves Garden Light-up" illuminating the autumn foliage-tinted castle tower and garden, and "Light-up Special Night - Harmony of Japanese Umbrellas" decorating the castle gates and the plaza in front of the castle tower with countless Japanese umbrellas, will be held. Furthermore, the event is packed with castle-themed activities, including powerful firing demonstrations by the Ogaki Castle Matchlock Gun Troop, a special performance from the castle tower by the Gujo Kita High School Brass Band, castle tours guided by the castle lord and armored samurai, armor-wearing experiences, and ninja martial arts workshops. A stamp rally touring the castle town and limited-edition castle stamps (gojoin) will also be available, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the autumn foliage at Gujo Hachiman Castle and stroll around the autumn castle town.
