About this event

The "Tokugawa Ieyasu & Ishida Mitsunari Helmet Making Workshop" held at Gifu Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Museum is an experiential event popular among history fans and children. The helmet kits to be crafted are designed based on the helmets (kabuto) of Tokugawa Ieyasu and Ishida Mitsunari, made of cardboard materials so that even children can easily assemble them. The crafting time takes about 30 to 45 minutes, offering an easy way to experience history. There are two workshops—Tokugawa Ieyasu Helmet Making and Ishida Mitsunari Helmet Making—each with a different participation fee. A separate museum admission fee is required to participate, but admission is free for junior high school students and younger during the FY2026 Autumn Special Exhibition period. Registrations are accepted only at the venue on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. Please refrain from wearing the helmets inside the memorial museum except in the seminar room. Through this workshop, you can enjoy the valuable experience of handcrafting the helmets of two warlords who shaped the Battle of Sekigahara.
