About this event

The Abe River is a Class A river flowing north to south through Shizuoka City. Based on precious historical documents and pictorial maps, this special exhibition highlights the flood and sediment disasters that occurred along the Abe River from the Edo period to the Taisho period, as well as the lives of the people who lived while confronting these disasters. The exhibition offers deep insight into people's living conditions at that time and the history of coexisting with nature.
