About this event
A geo-tour exploring the area around Maruike Pond in Mishima City. Departing from in front of Mitsuishi Shrine, the tour passes through the Old Tokaido Road, Kawagodaira pumice in front of the gate of Rinko-ji Temple, Sengandui Aqueduct, and the Sakaigawa/Kiyozumi Green Space, followed by a restroom break at Maruike Park. Afterward, participants will observe the Gotemba debris flow and return via the Old Tokaido Road to disperse at Mitsuishi Shrine. On this tour, you can explore the topography and geology (geo) around Maruike Pond along with its associated history. Please join in comfortable walking clothes. The tour will proceed in light rain, but in case of cancellation due to heavy rain or other reasons, participants will be notified by email or phone on the afternoon before the scheduled date. The participation fee is 500 yen, and free for high school students and younger.
