Minna de Kei-Truck Market: Iwata Ekimae Rakuichi

Boasting the largest scale in Honshu, "Minna de Kei-Truck Market: Iwata Ekimae Rakuichi" is held along Jubi Road in front of JR Iwata Station. Normally, as many as 106 light trucks (kei-trucks) set up shop, and the sight of them filling the street in front of the station is impressive. Here, an abundance of attractive items available only here are lined up, such as freshly picked locally grown vegetables and tea, fresh whitebait (shirasu) delivered directly from Fukuda Port, and popular sweets crafted with care by high school students. In addition, merchandise of "Shippei," the official mascot character of Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is also sold to delight visitors. The event is held on the 2nd Sunday of March, May, September, and December, and can be enjoyed from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (noon).
