About this event
The Kakezuka Festival is held around Kibune Shrine and dedicates the Kakezuka Festival Yatai Bayashi, a Prefecturally Designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The festival floats (yatai) are four-wheeled palace-style floats with karahafu curved gables, renowned for their magnificent wood carvings and curtains. The festival music includes pieces such as 'Baka-bayashi', 'Kagura-bayashi', 'Hon-bayashi', 'Irifune-bayashi', 'Defune-bayashi', 'Oba-bayashi', 'Ogukyo-bayashi', and 'Dochu-bayashi', carrying a rich sense of history with distinct tunes performed depending on the location. The floats are pulled as an accompanying festival for the Mikoshi Togyo (portable shrine procession) of the Kibune Shrine Grand Festival.
