About this event

At the 106th Hongō-ji Yose held in Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture, a master-and-disciple joint performance ("Oyako-kai") by Shin'uchi master Ryōshō Takigawa and his eighth disciple, Shin'uchi master Ryūjaku Shumpūtei, will take place. Continuing since October 1982, this local yose has provided a place to "spend time laughing" in a corner of an old Tokaido post town. This edition features Master Ryōshō Takigawa, a grand Shin'uchi from Hamamatsu, and Master Ryūjaku Shumpūtei, a Shin'uchi from Kagoshima City, along with amateur opening performer Seihachi Kirokuya. The venue is the main hall of Hongō-ji Temple in Arai-cho, Kosai City, with 80 chair seats prepared. Reservations are required, and if full, front-row cushion seats will be added. A fun lottery is also scheduled after the performance. Elementary school students accompanied by a guardian enter free of charge.
