Wasabi Picking Experience (*Advance Reservation Required)

Izu City, where rich nature breathes, is the hometown of "wasabi," recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS). Due to popular demand, the Izu Wasabi Visitor Center is offering additional limited-time sessions of the "Wasabi Picking (Harvesting Experience) at Wasabi Fields" in Ikadaba, Izu City, which is also certified as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. This is a special opportunity to handle real wasabi, available for 10,000 yen (tax included) per person for about 1 hour starting at 2:00 p.m., including 1 wasabi root. The meeting place is the Izu Wasabi Visitor Center; rubber boots, a towel, and comfortable clothes suitable for movement are required.
