The Front Lines of the Konan Area in the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute

The 'Battle of Komaki and Nagakute' was waged over 9 months starting in March of Tensho 12 (1584). In this historically significant conflict, Konan City stood on the front lines of battle. In this lecture, the role of the Konan area during this battle will be explained, tracing the path of the region where residents live based on historical literature. In addition to the lecture commentary, attendees can gain deep insight into the historical background of Konan City being on the front lines and what the local area was like at the time. Furthermore, starting on the same day as this lecture, a 'Battle of Komaki and Nagakute Exhibition' will also be held at the Museum of History and Folklore.\n\nThe lecturer will be Toshio Watanabe, Secretary General of the 'Hokuto Local History Society'. The Hokuto Local History Society operates to connect local historians and historical research groups across the Hokuto area, including Konan City, creating venues for information exchange and networking.\n\nThis event is free to attend, but registration is closed; winning applicants will be mailed a postcard. The mailing of the postcard serves as the announcement of selection results.
