About this event
The 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya 2026), Asia's largest sporting event, will be held. In this tournament, Shinshiro City in Aichi Prefecture will serve as the venue for cycling events, hosting the road race and individual time trials. The event period is from Saturday, September 19 to Sunday, October 4, 2026. As promotional initiatives leading up to the games, events such as the JBCF Shinshiro Criterium and Shinshiro Road Race were held in Shinshiro City in the past, alongside career education and cycling clinics conducted by competitive cyclists. Additionally, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, the torch relay will take place at Shinshiro Comprehensive Park, featuring the flame-lighting ceremony and the torch relay start. Scheduled torch relay runners include comedian Magical Lovely Murakami, Adriana Masuko, and Hideto Nakane, coach of the Japan National Cycling Team. Cycling competitions during the tournament period are scheduled to begin with official practice on Saturday, September 19, followed by the individual time trials (Men & Women) on Sunday, September 20, the road race (Women) on Tuesday, September 22 (public holiday), and the road race (Men) on Wednesday, September 23 (public holiday). For spectating, please refrain from watching on the course itself or in areas without sidewalks, and please show consideration for nearby residents. Spectator parking lots will be set up in the Tsukude and Horai areas.
